Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions?

Good. I’ve got answers.

  • I offer both. I have an in-person office in Berkeley where I see clients face-to-face. However, some clients prefer the convenience of virtual sessions, either due to scheduling constraints or being outside the area. You’re welcome to choose what works best for you. We can decide together what would feel the most helpful to you.

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, and most clients come once per week. That said, we can discuss what pace feels supportive for you and adjust as needed.

  • My fee is $225 for a 50-minute session. I also hold a few spots in my caseload for a sliding scale. If cost is a concern, let’s talk about it together. I want therapy to be as accessible and sustainable as possible.

  • The only insurance plan I accept is UC Berkeley’s SHIP insurance. Otherwise I am private pay.

Most insurance companies pose a lot of constraints to treatment and require a diagnosis to bill claims.

Your plan may have Out of Network coverage (typically PPO plans). I can provide you an itemized invoice for you to submit for partial reimbursement.

To find out what your insurance may cover, contact your insurance and ask if you have out-of-network mental health coverage.

  • Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to learn more about what’s been going on, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’re hoping for. It’s also a space for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure to share everything right away. This is about starting to see if I’m the right fit for your needs.

  • It really depends on your goals and what you’re looking for. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific challenge, while others stay longer for ongoing support and deeper growth. We’ll talk together about what feels helpful and check in along the way to make sure therapy is still meeting your needs.
